I have seen videos and read quite a few bad press about Bulgaria that I was not interested of going there. Eventually I was convinced but I was not really excited to see the place. This June, we stayed in Bulgaria for ten days and what I can say now is that it is now one of my favourite beach holiday destinations.
Bulgaria is a country in Southeast Europe that is bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and North Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. – Wikipedia. Outside our apartment block the cars parked are bearing plate number of countries around it.
And if you want a bit of Culture, you can visit the Ancient City of Nessebar. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Sunny Beach is a resort town along the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. It has string of hotels accross the coast and this is where the lively nightlife happens. The only bad thing about Sunny Beach is that the hotels are unforgiving in placing their sunbeds as they cover the beach entirely. Literally the sunbed ends where the sea begins. But don’t be put off by this as there are wild beaches where there are no sunbeds.
If you are thinking of going on a beach holiday in Bulgaria, just book it now. Hotels are reasonably priced, alcohol and cigarette is cheap, specially the local brands. I’d been drinking the a local Bulgarian wine that costs 3.40 Lev which is approximately £1.70 a bottle.
